Tally aims for higher tally in global market
Company to target countries in West Asia, Asia Pacific and Africa for further increasing its export revenue
NEW DELHI: Business accounting software provider Tally Solutions is now eyeing a bigger pie from the global software market.
The company expects its global revenues to rise over the next few years to an extent that they would come up to 50 per cent of the company’s revenues.
President and head of global services business at Tally Solutions D Kalyanaraman said, “Currently around 10 per cent of the revenue generated is from exports. Over 80 per cent of the revenues are from South Asia – probably closer to 90 per cent. In this financial year, we are targeting revenue of Rs 250 crore out of South Asia. We plan to decrease the South Asia revenue share to 50 per cent over the next two years and we are primarily looking at countries in West Asia, Asia Pacific and Africa for further increasing our export revenue.”
Tally Solutions continues expanding globally with offices in all major cities in India, London, Singapore and Dubai. Kalyanaraman said, “In countries that we operate in, we hope to edge out competition. For instance in Dubai, Tally is the number one accounting package in terms of sales. We also see huge requirement for our solutions out of Philippines, China, Thailand and North Africa.”
Tally had recently announced the launch of TallyDeveloper, a development environment / tool designed specifically for programmers, to develop and deploy customized Tally applications. The company also plans to broaden its partner ecosystem outside India in the Middle East, APAC region, SAARC region and North Africa. It is looking for partners with domain expertise in verticals such as automotive, healthcare and building construction.
Kalyanaraman said, “We have development partners in APAC, Africa and Middle East and at least 20 of them are investing in developing solutions. We are looking at growing the number of international partners from 1,800 to 3,000. Our partners also undertake localization of our solutions to need specific country needs to the extent of making it available in the local language.”

Tally to involve the developer community in Enhancing solutions for End-users
Tally Definition Language to Enable Channel and Developer Community to Value-add to Their Business and Skill-set
NEW DELHI: Tally (India) Pvt. Ltd., the leading provider of business accounting solutions announced that the company has opened up the market for providing solutions in and around Tally. This major initiative has been taken to simplify the integration of Tally solutions with the existing IT infrastructure of end-users and also to better meet their business requirements. Tally Definition Language (TDL), which is the object-oriented language with which Tally itself has been written, allows unrestricted re-usage of code and interacts closely with the underlying object oriented database.
Tally Developer is a huge boon for the channel partners as it allows them to value-add greatly to their business by being able to address the unique requirements of each customer.. Parallely, Tally India has also opened its gates in introducing a Training and certification program targeting the student community on Tally Definition language. The program’Tally Technologies program’’ is aimed at churning out Tally Technology professionals who are in great demand in the market place. The Developer tool is targeted at developers with ISVs, SIs, entrepreneurs, students and Tally partners.

Tally’s Global Services Business group serves as a thought leader in bringing about premium value offerings to Tally Users through the ecosystem. This new initiative by the business group comes close on heels with the recent new launches by Tally including the world’s first concurrent multilingual software. Different versions of TallyDeveloper will be available to serve requirements in three different segments – TallyDeveloper Academic, TallyDeveloper Professional and TallyDeveloper Enterprise. TallyDeveloper Academic is for Tally Academies to teach students / potential entrepreneurs through Tally Technologies Program (TTP). TallyDeveloper Professional is meant for Tally Authorised Service Centers (TASC), ISVs & independent consultants and Tally customers who wish to do some customization themselves. TallyDeveloper Enterprise will cater to the customization requirements of the buyers of Tally’s soon to be launched ERP product.
The company is planning to hold events in colleges and rural areas to promote the initiative. Some developers have already used TDL to build solutions for various verticals like automotive spares, health care, construction etc..
